Financial advisers tout home buying
BATON ROUGE, LA - The recent wild, lurching swings on Wall Street have caused some financial advisers to tell their clients to put their cash into buying a home and not into the stock market. The Wall Street Journal says there are plenty of incentives to buy a home as an investment, such as mortgage rates that are close to record lows and housing prices that are still down. If "you're financially prepared to do so, it's a great time to buy a house," says Greg McBride, senior financial analyst at Bankrate.com. "Affordability is tremendous; and if you're in a position where you have the financial security that others are lacking, you're in a great position to grab a good deal."
